HAROLD (KAY-O) BIGNELL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold (Kay-o) Bignell on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at the age of 57, in Winnipeg, MB beloved son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, brother-in-law and friend. Wake services were held on Monday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the St. James Anglican Church, 10 Caribou Rd. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. also in the Church. Interment to follow in the Thompson Cemetery. Harold Philip Bignell was born on March 14, 1948 in York Factory, MB. He grew up in Thicket Portage, MB where he received his education. He left the community at a very young age to work in construction. In the late 1960s, Kay-o moved to Thompson, MB. He lived in Thompson until he moved to Winnipeg on August 28, 2005. Kay-o loved to work. He was a very proud member of the Construction and Specialized Workers Union, Local 1258, Labourer's International Union of North America. Being a union member took him to various job sites where he found many friends. He was especially proud to have worked on the hydro dams in northern Manitoba. In his last year, more so in his last days, Kay-o talked about two very close buddies that had passed on Bill Burton (October 3, 2004) and Larry Chartier (April 19, 2004) both of Thompson. Kay-o had many friends, far too many to mention. What Kay-o loved best was to be with his friends. This was his joy. Kay-o was predeceased by loved ones gone before him, paternal grandparents, Joe Bignell Sr. and wife Bella (nee Marcellais) of The Pas, MB.
