DAVID HENDIN It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of David Hendin September 28, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. He showed us an example of faith, hope, courage and endurance while battling cancer. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Ruth and Louis Hendin; baby sister Reta and precious niece Anita. Dave will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and soulmate Bernice; children, Rhea Krawetz, Shari (Robert) Fraser, Allan (Lana) Hendin; grandchildren, Jason, Tyrone, Shannon, Angie (Andrew) Sim, Kim and Mathew. Also mourning his loss are brothers, Syd (Shirley) Hendin, Dr. Donald (Gloria) Hendin of Vancouver, BC; brother-in-law Professor Morley (Blanche) Gorsky of Toronto, ON and sister-in-law Edith Doctoroff; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was manager of Doubletex 43 years where he made lasting friendships. He was a loving and caring individual who could always be counted on by his family and friends. He showered his grandchildren with love and was looked upon as a role model. The family would like to thank Dr. Cook and the staff at Health Sciences Centre for their kindness and care. Funeral services were held at the Chesed Shel Emes September 30, 2005. Pallbearers were grandsons Jason, Tyrone, nephews, Michael, Howard, Marvin and good friend Alec Vine. Honorary pallbearers Sol Youssiem, Sam Minuk, Al Chisvin and Sheldon Levy. Thanks to Cantor Jerry Daien who officiated the service. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Please accept our sincerest condolences on Dave's passing. I know Russ was very fond of him and really enjoyed working with him. He was so kind to always bring me chocolate macadamian nuts, when he went to Hawaii. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you. - Posted by: Russ & Joan Knowles (Friend) on: Oct 13, 2005

  • Mrs. Hendin, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time in your lives. I am a friend of Shari's back here in Ontario and just want you to know what a beautiful person your daughter is. I will continue to be there for Shari each and every day as I cherish her friendship. It was very hard for her to be so far away and I hope that she was able to help you through this rough time in your life. Sincerely Deb Tanner - Posted by: Deb Tanner (Friend) on: Oct 12, 2005
