PETER SENKIW Suddenly on Monday, October 10, 2005 at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn his passing daughter Maria Petruchak (Bohdan) and granddaughter Melanie of Vancouver, son William Senkiw and granddaughters, Jasmine and Janine, close friend Mary Bereznycky and a sister and brother along with numerous nieces and nephews in Ukraine. He is also survived by relatives in Manitoba and British Columbia. He was predeceased by a brother. Father was born August 24, 1923 in the village Zbruchanske, district of Borschiv, region of Ternopil, Ukraine. During the Second World War he was taken from his homeland and put to work on a farm at Stutgard, Germany. After the war he made a choice to better his life and immigrated to Canada, making Winnipeg his home. Upon his arrival in Winnipeg he worked on the Seven Sister Falls project, then for a shoe manufacturer, Sangster Auto Body, Monarch Machinery, finally settling in at Bristol Aerospace from where he retired at age 65. He was never a person to sit idle. If he wasn't remodelling a house, building a garage or rec room, he would be working in the garden and flower beds and tending to his favourite apple trees. His favourite past time was needlepoint and reading along with listening to Ukrainian music. He loved to travel and had the opportunity during his retirement. Father was also an active member of Institute Prosvita. We will dearly miss all his stories which he had plenty to tell. He cherished his family and dear friends. Prayers and Divine Liturgy will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St., with Msgr. M. Buyachok officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. VICHNAYA PAMYAT We love you Tato and will miss you dearly. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
