Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELENA (LENA) COWLTHORP Helena (Lena) Cowlthorp (nee Campbell), aged 94 years, passed away peacefully October 8, 2005 at Wawanesa Personal Care Home. Lena was born on December 10, 1910 in the Nesbitt area. Lena married Arnett Cowlthorp, October 19, 1935. They farmed in the Lily Hill district until 1964 when they retired to Wawanesa. Lena was a very active member of her community both in Dunrea and in Wawanesa. Her family was her greatest joy. She spent many hours with her seven grandchildren, following them in all their activities. Lena is survived by her three children, Lorna (Garth) Sampson of Wawanesa, Audrey (Hugh) Wilton of Wawanesa, and Clare (Esther) Cowlthorp of Brandon; grandchildren, Tari (Kirk) Moore, Edmonton; Kevin (Janet) Sampson, Regina; Cheryl (Mark) Baynton, Brandon; Kim (Bob) Wallis, Brandon; Darcy (Teresa) Wilton, Wawanesa; Carmen (Lois) Cowlthorp, Wawanesa; Doug (Sherri) Cowlthorp, Winnipeg; and fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Lena was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Arnett, son-in-law Hugh Wilton, parents Joseph and Mary Campbell, brothers William and Albert and sister-in-law Angele Campbell, brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Ada Gullett, Lewis and Evelyn Cowlthorp and Sylvia Miller. Funeral service was held Wednesday, October 12, 2005 with Rev. Margret Kristjansson officiating. Interment was at Wawanesa Cemetery. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Wawanesa Hospital Aide or the Wawanesa New Horizons. Jamieson Funeral Service of Glenboro, in care of arrangements.
