Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN DAVID WALKER It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John (David) Walker of North Sydney, NS on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 in Winnipeg, MB while on vacation. David in his passing leaves to mourn his loving partner in life Henriette White; his daughters, Shannon Feehan (Bruce McKay) (grandchildren, Jennifer, Kayla and Keir of New Glasgow, NS), Sloane Thompson (Keir) of Charlottetown, PE, Sana Walker (granddaughter Naomi, great-granddaughter Emma of Halifax, NS); stepson Stephen Foster (Eleanor) (grandchildren, Stephen, Skyla and Sam of Kingston, ON); his brothers, Frank Walker (Nina) of Buckens, NF, Donald Kenneth Walker (special friend Marcella) of Sydney; sister Shirley Fitzgerald (John) of Sydney; and sister-in-law Colleen Walker along with numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be lovingly remembered by Henriette White's family, Anne Johnson (Ken), Carole Vivier (Rick) Thelma Quinn (Keith) Pamela White and Judi Loewen (Brent). David was predeceased by a son in infancy and stepson Shane Foster, his parents, John David Walker and Margaret MacLellan and his brother Fraser. David was born April 2, 1932 in Sydney where he grew up and was special nephew to the late Dan and Lexie (Walker) Lynk. He attended Colby School and the Sydney Academy then went on to Mount Allison University and the University of Arizona in Phoenix. David was a businessman in Charlottetown, PE during the 1950s and 1960s. In the 1970s be began a career with the Government of Canada working for Statistics Canada and later the Federal Department of Transportation (Coast Guard) in Halifax and Ottawa. He'll always be remembered for his sense of humour, generosity of spirit, acts of kindness and concern for others. We would like to extend our thank you to everyone at the Health Sciences Centre Emergency/ Observation Unit, who attended to David, for all their care and kindness and David's nephew Stephen Walker and family. A memorial service will be held on October 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, 9 Brooklyn St. (corner of George Street) Sydney, with Rev. Leyle officiating. Reception immediately to follow at Bethel Church Hall (Cremation has already taken place). Flowers gratefully declined, if friends so desire, donations may be made in David's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the charity of one's choice.
