Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY J. TEES (DOLLY) February 7 1909 - October 12 2005 Quietly in her sleep with family by her side, Mom slipped from us to once again join with her beloved husband Dave. Mary is survived by her son David, wife Margaret and daughter Brenda; daughter Maureen Orchard, husband Jim and daughter Tara Orchard, husband Andrew Edwards daughter Vesta; Kyla Wiebe, husband Ben and children Connie and Max; sisters Madge (Charlie) Taylor and Edith Springstein and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Dave, her husband of 50 years; her beloved grandson Gregory Tees; her mother and sisters Edna Constant, Kathleen Adkin, Helen Galbraith and brother Tom Couser. Born February 7, 1909 in Armagh N. Ireland the eldest of seven children, she came to Canada in 1910 where her family made their life in Winnipeg. She spent much of her young life in St. James and Sturgeon Creek. She and Dave spent 33 happy years in West Kildonan where they raised their family. Upon Dave's retirement from Continental Can they moved to Chilliwack, BC where they lived for 5 1/2 years before returning to Winnipeg in 1975 to live nearer to their family. Mary was a member of Kildonan United Church and a Life member of the U.C.W. After her children were grown she returned to work at the T. Eaton Company and various other retail stores. In her later life she joined Toastmasters and loved it. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was always willing to listen and always happy to offer her unconditional love and support. She made her home warm and welcoming to friends and family and always open to the friends of her children and grandchildren. She lived for her family and was truly saddened when cancer took her grandson Greg much too soon. Mary moved to Middlechurch Personal Care Home in 2002 after a brief illness left her unable to live alone and, true to her nature, she made Middlechurch her home. Mary lived each day that God gave her with patience and quiet dignity, always trying to help and bring comfort to others, even at age 96. In the end, she was tired and ready to go home to be with her loved ones who had gone before her. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Middlechurch Personal Care Home for their kindness to our mother and grandmother. Their care and compassion made her last years all that we could have hoped for. I go from you gently for it is my time To take the next step in this journey of mine; Don't grieve for me long - I've not left you alone For I will be with you in the love that we've known, That love is forever and some day when it's time You'll join me again on this journey of mine. A memorial service will be held at Middlechurch Home 280 Balderstone, West St. Paul on Thursday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Earl Gould officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
