Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN EDNA BARR Peacefully on October 13, 2005 at the Concordia Hospital Jean Edna Barr passed away at the age of 79. Jean was born to Alexander and Violet Carmichael on the family farm on October 31, 1925. Jean spent her early years in the Riding Mountain and Neepawa areas. Jean married Ernie Barr on March 1, 1947 and they celebrated their 50th wedding with family and friends in 1997. Jean and Ernie enjoyed their many travels to Australia, England, France, Spain and Portugal. Jean enjoyed a family reunion in the summer of 2004 at Little Redstone Lake, Ontario. As a young woman Jean served in the Canadian Women's Army Corps in Winnipeg and Montreal. Mom was dedicated to her family. Despite her failing health she was always warm, caring, cheerful and shared her positive attitude with friends and family. Jean was predeceased by her husband Ernie; sister Marion; brothers, Clifford and Lorne. Jean is survived by her sister Margaret Slaney; her daughter Cathy (Kerry) of Winnipeg; and her three sons, Larry of Winnipeg, Brian of Toronto, Don (Debbie) of Regina; and six grandchildren, Jared, Matthew, Kelly, Tabitha, Jennifer and Sara. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. In addition to family Jean will be missed by many friends and neighbours at the Riverside Plaza. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. McCarthy and Dr. Thomas for their care during mom's respiratory illness. A special thanks to Anna Alberg for her friendship and assistance. Funeral service will be held October 17 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined.
