DOROTHY (DOLLY) JAMES (MAITLAND) Peacefully on October 15, 2005 at the Grace Hospital, Dolly passed away at the age of 76 years, late of Winnipeg. Dolly was predeceased by her husband Tom in 1986; mother and father Jane and Jack Maitland; brother-in-law Frank Thomson; sisters-in-law, Pat James and Eileen Stratton; mother-in-law Agnes E. Harrison and father-in-law Charles W. James. She is survived by daughters, Sandy and husband Tom Dudar of Winnipeg, Cathy and husband Kyle Breitkreitz of Winnipeg, Lorraine and husband Ron Douglas of Cochrane, AB, Della and husband Glenn Prokoppa of West Hawk, MB; sons Art and wife Susan of Winnipeg, Jeff and wife Karen of Winnipeg, Les and Terry of Winnipeg; also surviving are her sisters Margaret Thomson and family, Lil and brother-in-law Don Sharman and family, brother-in-law Ron James and family all of Winnipeg. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be fondly remembered by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dolly was born January 30, 1929 in Oakriver, MB, the daughter of Jack and Jane Maitland. Dolly spent her early years in Oakriver and later in Winnipeg where she met and married Tom, who was in the Armed Forces. She moved from Winnipeg to Toronto and then onto Kingston, ON and back to Winnipeg. She worked at Eaton's (Polo Park) for many years. She loved to travel, curl, golf and bowl. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. We will all remember Dolly as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. May she rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Animal Rescue Shelter.
