Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL JANE STEPHENSON Peacefully, with family at her side, Hazel passed away on October 12, 2005 at Sun Point Village, Kelowna, B.C. at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy in 1965 and son Spike in 1986, Mom is lovingly remembered by her daughters Jane (Bob Gustafson) of Kelowna, Marilyn (Carl Anderson) of Winnipeg, her twin sister Mabel (Earl Bell) of Killarney, MB., and daughter-in-law Lisa of Vancouver, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Raised in Wawanesa, MB. , Hazel attended Success Business College and was employed by the firm of J.R. Stephenson Ltd. where she met her future husband Jimmy. They were married in 1943 and enjoyed 22 years together sailing, golfing and travelling. She was actively involved in the Shrine Auxiliary, the Daughters of the Nile and the P.E.O. Sisterhood and was a long time member of the Niakwa Country Club where she enjoyed many a pleasant morning with her golfing friends. She was also an active curler, bowler and cross-country skier in her younger years. She continued to travel extensively as long as her health permitted. She will be deeply missed, but her loving spirit and wonderful smile will forever be in our hearts. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to the nursing staff at Sun Point Village for their compassionate care during these past five years. A celebration of Hazel's life will be held at the Niakwa Country Club, 620 Niakwa Rd., Winnipeg on Saturday, October 22 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St. , Winnipeg, MB., R3C 4G2.
