Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) DAVID SMITH Suddenly, at his home in Lena, MB, Jack passed away October 17,2005 at the age of 75. Predeceased by his loving wife Barbara Jean August 19, 1997. He is survived by his sister Phyllis (Richard) Law of Kelowna, BC, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joan and Clifford Gow of Winnipeg, MB, niece Tracy Gow and her children Kerri and Ainsley, nephews Colin Gow, Michael Law and David Law all of Winnipeg, and special friend Lorraine LaFontaine of St. John, ND, and long time employee George Keyes. Jack was born in Winnipeg December 16, 1929. At the age of 22 he moved to Lena, MB where he started Smith's Service, which has since become Smith's Cylinder Head Engine Rebuilding. He was in the business over 50 years. He loved his vocation and built and restored many antique and classic cars, his favourite being the 1929 Hudsons. Jack also over the years held positions of leadership in the Elks Club of Killarney, MB and worked with many volunteer organizations within the community. Graveside funeral will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Killarney Cemetery, Killarney, MB. Donations may be made to Elks Purple Cross Fund or Cancer Society.
