Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK ERNEST TAYLOR 1921 - 2005 With the love and comfort of his family at his side, Frederick Ernest Taylor Jr., aged 84 years, beloved husband of Irene Taylor (nee Scrimshaw), peacefully passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. He will forever be in the hearts of his two children, Lynn Taylor-Boiteau (Leo) and Frederick Taylor III (Laurel); and his six grandchildren, Jared and Erin Boiteau, Alicia, Stephanie, Kathleen and Frederick IV Taylor; and his great-grandson Dante Taylor-Carriere. He is also survived by his sister Edie Zimmerman, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Elsie; and his brother Wallie. Fred was born May 10, 1921 and lived his entire life in Elmwood. He started working at Ogilvie Mills at the age of 17. During the Second World War he served in the RCAF as an airplane mechanic. After the war he returned to Ogilvie Mills where he became the Chief Miller of the Oat Mill until his retirement in 1983. In 1950, he married Irene Scrimshaw, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage in June 2005. In his spare time Dad enjoyed curling, golfing, bowling and gardening. He was known among friends and family for his prized tomatoes. He was an active member of Gordon-King Memorial United Church where he was famous for his Taylor-made coffee . Fred was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a true friend to all. He will be sadly missed and remembered. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Health Sciences Centre SICU for their compassion, support and care. Memorial service will be held at Gordon-King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Ave. on Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be his six grandchildren and Sheryl and Perry Vogel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's name to the Gordon-King Memorial Designated Trust Fund, 127 Cobourg Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2L 0H4 or a charity of your choice.
