HEINZ GERHARD RUMMEL February 24, 1924 - October 18, 2005 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Heinz Gerhard Rummel, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Lisa; his children, Thomas (Louise), Marion Mossman (Charles); his grandchildren, Shawn, Michael and Samantha Rummel, Rhea Sims (Peter), Kathryn, Hilary, and Lindsay Mossman; and great-grandchildren, David, Eva and Georgia Sims. Fondly known as Opi he will always be remembered for his keen sense of humour and his philosophical outlook on life. He was an avid lifelong stamp collector, our cottage handyman and our best friend. We shall always treasure those dog walks in King's Park and his presence at all the family gatherings. Heinz and Lisa would have celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary on December 10, 2005. We wish to thank all the staff at CancerCare, including Dr. Maksymiuk for their kindness and support. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., on Saturday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
