DAISY ELIZABETH IRVINE (nee SCAMMELL) 1916 - 2005 Peacefully, on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, Mom passed away at the Riverview Health Centre, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Daisy is survived by her daughter Kay and children, Terry (Paddy), Danielle (Louis), Billy (Kim) and Caroline; daughter Brenda (Jacob Hildebrand) and children, Sherry (Barry) and Jeff; son Bob (Diane) and children, Debbie (Shawn) and Rob (Sherril); son John (Kim) and child Tom (Lori); daughter Marlene (Steve McCulloch) and children, Catherine (Darryl) and Bob (Susana); and daughter Laurel and children, Samantha (Jordan), Rhianna (Chuck) and Michael (Jen); as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mom is also fondly remembered by her sisters, Ethel, Violet, Florence, Margie; and her brother Arthur and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Bob; her son Tommy; her son-in-law Gerry; her brother Ernie; and her sister Gladys. Mom was a hard working, talented woman. She instilled in her family the importance of responsibility and taking pride in a job well done. Mom was a nurturing mother and grandmother and was the driving force of our family. She took pleasure in music and was the church organist for many years at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in West Kildonan. Mom had a thirst for knowledge and often challenged family and friends to debate. Feisty was a term often used to describe Mom. She had a love of many things including travelling, golf and Scrabble, and the need for speed in her 71 Javelin (the Green Hornet ). In order to accommodate travelling family members, a Celebration of Mom's Life will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 3:30 p.m. in Riverview Health Centre Chapel, One Morley Avenue with a reception to follow at the Centre. A private family interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Unit B2 at Riverview Health Centre for their kindness, care and compassion. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Riverview Health Centre, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4. Please indicate your donation is for Unit B2 in memory of Daisy Irvine. WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
