Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAMALIE (MALI) RUPP It is with great sadness that we advise of the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Oma and Omi, Amalie Rupp, aged 97, on October 17, 2005 after a short stay at the Deer Lodge Centre. Amalie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Lydia Dyck, son-in-law Peter, grandchildren, Oliver, Monica (Scot) Cooper with Ben and Grace; by her son Bernhard (Hardy) Rupp, daughter-in-law Gwen, grandson Jason, and by her grandchildren, Margaret (Ken) Wonko with Matthew (Mandy), Amber and Candice, Bill (Pearl) Franz with Jane and Anna, Ingrid (Richard) Pawlosky with Nadia; and Monika (Jeff) Franz-Lien with Andrea and Emily. She was predeceased by her husbands, Wilhelm (1936) and John (1978), her son Willi (1938), her eldest daughter Ella (2003) and son-in-law Johann (2004). Born December 18, 1907 in Dornfeld, Austria, she immigrated to Canada in 1949. Amalie resided at Autumn House for 26 years after the death of her second husband, where she was very active in the social life of the centre and volunteered in the kitchen. She loved to entertain family and friends, to travel, and to do needlecrafts. Thank you to the staff and friends at Autumn House, and Michele Roziere and staff at WRHA Homecare for helping our grandmother keep her independence for so long, and also to the staff at the Concordia Hospital, Grace Hospital and Deer Lodge Centre for their gentle and respectful care. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24 at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave. Visitation will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway on Sunday, October 23 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., and also at the church one hour prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations in Amalie's memory may be made to Seniors Home Help Inc., Autumn House, 102-790 Wellington Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 3K9 or to the Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, R3T 5K9.
