Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS RUTA Peacefully, on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Nicholas Ruta, aged 92 years of Selkirk, formerly of Matlock, MB. Nicholas is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary; son Gerald (Darlene) of Gimli; daughter Helen (Victor) Bidinosti of Petersfield; grandchildren, Blaine (Brenda), Carla (Dwight Batt) and Nola (Richard Lyles); great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael and Jessica. Nicholas was born on December 16, 1912 in Jonaw, Poland to George and Anna Ruta. He came to Canada in 1930 at the age of 17 years. Nicholas farmed his entire life in the Matlock area and was very active in the Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Winnipeg Beach. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Betel Home in Selkirk for all the care and compassion shown to Nicholas. Also, thanks to Dr. Demsas and the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for the care shown to Nicholas during his last week. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
