CALVIN M. WOOD September 29, 1924 - October 22, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father. Cal passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 22, 2005 at the Victoria Hospital with his family at his side. He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Sheila Sauder and Bernice (Ross) Knowles and their families; daughter Lynne and husband Peter; son Ewen and wife Brenda and their daughters, Stephanie, Amber, Carley and Amy; daughter-in-law Heather and her son Jeffery. Cal was predeceased by his wife Norma, son Melville, brother Melville and sister Donna. Cal had a long distinguished career of 48 years with the C.N.R. with a short break to serve in the Navy during the Second World War. He retired early at the age of 63 years in 1987 due to the illness of his wife. He maintained his passion for the rail by model railroading for many years after. Cal's greatest joy came from his grandchildren whom he watched grow with pride and amusement. His favourite pastimes were golf, curling, listening to music and more recently telling lies with the old guys in the food court. We would like to thank the staff at the Victoria Hospital for the comfort and care they provided our father during his brief stay there. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, October 26 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota.
