JOHN FROESE It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, dad, grandpa, and opa, John Froese, of Niverville, MB. He was born in Russia on November 16, 1925 and passed away after a lengthy battle with brain cancer at the age of 79 years, on Friday, October 21, 2005 at the De Salaberry District Hospital in St. Pierre-Jolys, MB. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Tina (nee Leppky), daughters, Barb (John) Friesen, Kathy (Harold) Martens and son Jack (Rita) Froese and their families. He also leaves behind two sisters, three brothers, a sister-in-law and their families and a host of friends. John was predeceased by one grandson and two granddaughters, all in infancy, his parents, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law and a nephew. Among his many places of employment were Radio Oil and Kimberley Clark where he worked for many years. His passion was singing and he spent many hours over the years entertaining seniors with the Hope For Tomorrow Singing Group and also with the Mitchell Seniors Choir. He loved his work with MCC both in soap making and at the Relief Sale in Morris. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kryck and his staff at Health Sciences Centre and Dr. Brennan and her staff at the St. Pierre Hospital. Thank you for the many prayers, phone calls, cards, visits and food both at home and at the hospital. Viewing will be at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, on Tuesday, October 25, at 7:00 p.m. with a short devotional at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Word of Life Church, 233 3rd St. S, Niverville, with interment at Hespeler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mennonite Disaster Service, 306-2265 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB, R3T 5J3 or De Salaberry District Hospital Palliative Care Unit in care of South Eastman Health, Box 88, St. Pierre, MB, R0A 1V0.
