Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH (BETTE) WALLER It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend, Bette. Bette passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 21, 2005 at the age of 73 years. She had a long, hard struggle with her illnesses, which she faced with dignity and courage. Bette was born on January 27, 1932, in Winnipeg, the only child of Ann and Joseph Cherneski. Raised in Dauphin where she became an accomplished vocalist and pianist competing in the Winnipeg Music Festival Rose Bowl competition in voice. Bette was predeceased by her parents. On September 24, 1952, Bette married her soul mate Barry and together they raised their children, Brenda (husband Ken, sons Garth and Nathan), Richard (wife Val, children Meaghan and Matthew), Colleen (husband Darryl, children Dylan, Jessie, and Devon). Mom was an active volunteer in the community, 4H, the speech Program in Evergreen School Division, the Grace Hospital Auxiliary, and was a founding member of the Gimli Hospital Auxiliary. She openly welcomed family and friends to her home where you would always expect to be well fed and watered while enjoying many laughs and conversations. The twinkle in her eyes endeared her to all as she touched the lives of many on her journey of life. She will ever be remembered and cherished by her family. The family would like to thank all their friends for their support and prayers through the difficult times. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kaita, Dr. Seftel and staff at Health Sciences Centre, Dr. R.C. Patel, Dr. S.V. Patel, Julie, Sister Cathy, and the staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care. Prayers will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli on Tuesday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Gimli. Cremation will follow and interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Pallbearers will be Brian Arnason, Marcel Morin, Joe Rebizant, Ron Siatecki, Hugh Vouriot, and Pat Waller. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Mom's friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Mennonite Central Committee, a local Christian organization who distribute livestock to those less fortunate in Third World Countries. I remember the first time I saw your Mom-it was in church when you first moved to Gimli-I remember so vividly what an elegant woman she was as she walked up the aisle with her young family. It was wonderful to know her . Her warmth, her graciousness and her wonderful smile... It is with sadness that we bid her farewell but how fortunate for all of us who knew her and got a hug and a smile along the wayI - Posted by: Shirley Krulicki &Michael Lindenback (Family) on: Oct 26, 2005
