Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL DUECK Paul Dueck passed away peacefully on October 20, 2005 at the Vista Park Lodge at the age of 81 years. Paul was born on October 11, 1924, in Schostak, Russia to John and Maria Dueck, and immigrated to Canada at the age of 3. He grew up in several communities in Ontario and Manitoba. Paul and his family settled in Oak Bluff and it was here that he met Mary, whom he married in 1947. They continued to work the family farm until moving to Winnipeg in 1961. Dad began his career working with the Otis Elevator Co. Although short in stature, he was well-known there as Tall Paul . With raising four children, and often being outdoors with them, he became a popular dad for all the neighbourhood kids. Paul enjoyed many things in his life. He was a gifted carpenter and happily took on wood-working projects for his family. Dad and mom bought a motorhome in their retirement years and spent many enjoyable week-ends camping with family and friends. Paul was predeceased by his wife, Mary, son, Dennis, his parents, John and Maria, brother, Harold and his sister, Edith. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Don (Doreen), Mona (Bruce), Harv (Susan); grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Tara, Connor, Allison and Ryan, and by his extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful, caring staff of Vista Park Lodge and to our aunts and uncles for their visits to dad and continuing support. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame, with Pastor Franz Wiebe officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the M.C.C. or charity of choice. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson-North of McIvor-338-0331
