HAZEL TAYLOR Hazel Taylor died at Rock Lake Hospital in Crystal City, Manitoba on October 22, 2005 after a brief illness. She was born in Hensall, ON on June 3, 1913 to Elliot and Alice Fairbairn. Hazel lived in Snowflake, MB from 1914 until 2004, when she moved to the Kinsmen Haven in Manitou, MB. She was predeceased in 1979 by her husband Jack Taylor, whom she married on November 25, 1936. Hazel is survived by daughter Alice-Ann (Ric) and sons Kim (Sandra) and Jeff (Ursule); grandchildren Erin, Holly and Trevor; and step-grandchildren Kent, Lynn and Chris Anderson and Nissa, Elise and Colin Critoph. Hazel was an active member of her community throughout her life. She was a United Church member who sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, led the junior choir, and played the church organ. A caring and compassionate person, Hazel warmly welcomed family, friends and the occasional stranger into her home at any time. She will be remembered for her keen mind, sharp wit and sunny disposition. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 11 a.m., at St. Andrew's United Church, Manitou, MB, with interment at the Snowflake Cemetery. Graham Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to the Pembina-Manitou Area Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
