JOAN HUFF (nee MAYCHER) It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Joan. Peacefully, in the arms of her husband, with her loving family by her side, Joan passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2005, at 70 years of age, after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband of 48 years, Marvin; her daughters, Karen (Murray) and Lauran (Ken); son Brian; and precious grandchildren, Tyler, Jennifer, Trevor, Kyle and Ryan. She will also be sadly missed by her three brothers, Walter (Ellie), Stan (Ev), Cas (Marj), brother and sister-in-law, Allan and Dorothy; and many special nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joan will be remembered as a very kind, gentle and generous person, who never spoke ill of anyone. She always focused on the positive in people and faced her many health problems with courage and dignity. Joan drew strength and solace from her faith, especially during her most difficult times. Mom's love and devotion to her family was immeasurable. She always put others first with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. Mom was sure to find a little miracle in her daily life and we look forward to receiving many MOMMY MIRACLES sent from heaven. There will always be a void in our hearts and a lifetime of tears for this very special Mom, Wife and Grandma given to us by God. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 26 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place at Renfrew St, with Rev. Fr. Msgr. Stanislaus A. Jaworski (Retired) presiding and Rev. Fr. Roland Lanoie Concelebrating. A private family interment will take place in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4477 Main St., N. Our family would like to extend special thanks to the supportive people we met along Joan's journey...Dr. Dyck, Dr. Morris, Dr. Tan, Dr. Navaratnam and Lori, Dr. Sisler our Palliative home care team, Janice and Mark and the St. Boniface Palliative Care staff, especially our angel nurses, Collette and Cinda and dear Fr. Roland. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Joan may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
