Date of Passing: Oct 24, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER KOWALIUK Suddenly, on October 24, 2005, at the St. Boniface Hospital, our beloved husband, father and grandpa, Walter Kowaliuk, passed away with his wife Nancy by his side. Walter leaves to mourn and cherish his memory wife Nancy; daughter Barb (Rob); grandchildren, James and Daniel; sisters, Olga, Jean and Helen. He was predeceased by his sister Anne; and parents Andrew and Mary. Walter was born in Vita, MB, on February 11, 1935, and grew up in Gardenton. He left the country in 1951 to seek his fortune in Winnipeg. An auto body mechanic by trade, Walter worked for various Winnipeg body shops, retiring in 1990. He always demanded perfection of himself, and this was manifested in his perfect auto body work, carpentry and his finely manicured yard. Walter was a kind, caring person, always willing to lend a helping hand. An avid hunter and fisherman, Walter also enjoyed mushroom picking and playing his violin. But above all, he dearly loved his family who brought him so much joy and love. The family would like to thank their wonderful neighbours, Karen Monasterski and Raymond Okapiec, for all of their unsolicited help, and also St. Boniface Emergency staff, especially Jennifer D., who was with us until the end. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day. St., with Rev. Mark Whitehead presiding. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
