CLIFF BJORKLUND 1964 - 2005 Christie and Thomas along with their family regret to announce the peaceful passing of their beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend on October 24, 2005. Clifford was born February 3, 1964 to Gisele Burkowski (nee Cure), in Winnipeg. He was adopted shortly after by Christine and Oscar Bjorklund. Clifford died courageously after complications due to diabetes at the Victoria General Hospital where he spent the last few years of his life. Clifford was a very happy and active child who enjoyed the cottage at Whytewold, motor biking, water skiing, fishing, boating and family time. He attended Montessori and remembers tying his shoes for the first time on the outside steps. He later attended St. John's Ravenscourt, Vincent Massey and graduated from Luther College in Regina in 1983. Cliff's fondest memories were times spent with his father helping at the motel and the apartment blocks. After Oscar's death, Cliff would reminisce about the time he would spend in Oscar's office down in the basement talking about their day....he really missed that. Cliff loved his job and he loved sports. He had an awesome sense of humour and a very positive attitude. Cliff used to say, if you say, why me, for the bad times, you have to say, why me, for the good times. And Cliff never questioned his good times. At Clifford's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, with interment and reception to follow. GOD SAW YOU GETTING WEARY God saw you getting weary, and a cure was not to be. He knew that you were suffering, So He wrapped you in His loving arms, And He closed your weary eyes. He did what He thought was best, He came and stood beside you, And whispered, Come and rest, peace be thine. You suffered much in silence, Your spirit did not bend, You faced your pain with courage, Until the very end. Our hearts still ache with sadness, And secret tears will flow, For what it meant to lose you, No one will ever know. Peace be yours dear Clifford It's sweet to breathe your name, As in life we loved you, So in death we do the same. Someday, we know not when, We will meet you again.
