PETER SHERBO It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Peter Sherbo on October 26, 2005. Peter was born August 21, 1915 in Winnipeg, MB. He was 90 years old. Peter was a Second World War Army veteran. Serving in the 12th Division, Manitoba Dragoons. He served his country overseas for four years, seven months. He continued his membership in the Dragoons until his passing. Peter owned a shoe-repair business for many years on Osborne Street. Peter's favourite hobbies were lawn bowling and bridge. He was an accomplished lawn bowler and held the title of Manitoba Champion. His second passion was gardening. He built a greenhouse in his yard where he enjoyed countless days seeding his own flowers and vegetables. He took great pride in his garden. He looked forward to his yearly trips to California visiting his two children. Going to the farms and picking persimmons. Regardless of his age and his ailments Peter lived life to its fullest and never once complained or lost his passion for life. Peter was preceded in death by his mother Maria Sherbo, father Arcangelo Sherbo, brother Tony Sherbo and sister Carmelina Fiorentino. He is survived by his devoted wife Rose, daughter Mary and husband Frank Maione, son Archie and wife Beverlee Park-Sherbo, son Michael and wife Shelley Sherbo, grandchildren, Rose, Kelsie, Louie, Peter, Carla and Frank Jr. and four great-grandchildren, Mary, Beck and twins, Carla and Michael. He is survived by his sisters, Adelina, Angie, Virgie and Sera and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss Dad, Nono, Brother, Uncle and friend very much. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. with Rev. Fr. Argenziano presiding. Interment to follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens.
