HELEN WYNYCHUK (nee GILCHUK) It is with deep sadness with her children at her side, that we announce the passing of Helen Wynychuk (nee Gilchuk), on Monday, October 24, 2005 at the age of 69 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Stephen (1991); parents, Michael and Medoria Gilchuk; brothers, Harry, John, Alec and Bill. She is survived by one sister Mary. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nettie (Orest) Paciorka, David (Linda) Wynychuk; grandchildren, Gregory and Michael (Gail) Paciorka; Derek and Craig Wynychuk; great-grandchildren, Jared and Kaitlyn. Helen was born February 7, 1936 in Sundown, MB. At the age of 15 the family moved to Winnipeg where she found employment. In 1952 she met and married Stephen Wynychuk on October 25. They briefly lived in Winnipeg and then moved to the family farm in the Pansy area. From their, in 1957 they purchased their own farm on Pansy corner, where they got into dairy farming and raising their children. In 1980 they sold the dairy farm and moved near Sarto where they started into beef farming. Mom was never afraid of life's challenges. She loved gardening, flowering, picking mushrooms, cutting grass, etc. whatever it took to enjoy the outdoors. In 1998 she sold the farm and moved to Chapel Drive in Steinbach in September of that year. In July 2000 was the start of her biggest challenge, cancer. After a couple of surgeries her life began to decline, but she still forged ahead. Family functions, fall suppers and playing cards with her senior friends, etc. were still all part of her life. Mom's last few months were spent in the Bethesda Hospital where the children would like to thank all family and friends who came to visit and provide support. To the home care workers that looked after her over the years from both Steinbach and Vita; to Dr. Karen Toews and the nursing staff at Bethesda Hospital for their care and services. Also special thanks to the Vita Funeral Home and their support during this difficult time. Prayers and Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Pansy, MB. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. VITA FUNERAL HOMES VITA CHAPEL IN CARE OF ARRANGEMENTS
