Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET (VI) AMY HUTCHINSON Violet (Vi) Amy Hutchinson (nee Shepherd), a longtime resident of Elmwood, passed away peacefully October 26, 2005 in Winipeg. Vi was born September 2, 1912 in Minnedosa, MB and married David Hutchinson in 1936. Vi was predeceased by her husband David in 1975 and by sister Alice Kerslake in 1993. She is survived by three children, Doris Elaine Hasell (Bruce) of Saskatoon, Ruth Eleanor McCluskey (Joseph) of Strathmore and Ronald Keith Hutchinson (Bea) of Winnipeg; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Beatrice Cook; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Vi can be remembered for her unselfish service with Gordon King Memorial United Church, especially for her work with the UCW for which she received a Life Membership Award. She loved to cook, bake, sew, knit, crochet, read, bowl and play cards. For a number of years, Vi baked for The Good Old Days Tea House. She and her husband Dave enjoyed their times at the cottage at Grand Marais and travelling throughout Canada and the United States. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Darcy Johnson and the staff on N3-East at Concordia Hospital, for the care and compassion shown to Vi. Funeral service will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy., Monday, October 31 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Marc Whitehead officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concordia Hospital Foundation, 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S8, or a charity of your choice.
