Mary was predeceased by her husband Arnett; sister Margaret Jeffery and husband Leonard; sister Florence Ross; brother Arthur and wife Mary; son-in-law Martin Makowski; nephews, Wayne Ross and Ted Pearson. Mary leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Barbara (Tom) Bowman; granddaughters, Karen and Beverley (Kevin) Kiel and great-grandsons, Tyler and Carter; daughter Eleanor Makowski, granddaughter June, great-grandson Kane, grandson John, grandson Tim (Loretta) and great-grandson Stephen; son Hugh (Karen), grandson Stephen and great-granddaughter Cassandra, grandsons, Matthew, Daniel and Jeffrey. She is also survived by brothers, Harry (Alma), Joseph (Wilhemina), Gerald (Margaret); brother-in-law Duncan Ross; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was born at Balmoral on July 28, 1918 to Clarence and Florence Pearson. After many family moves in her childhood, Mary returned to Manitoba where her family took up residence in the Dundas district. It was here she met her future husband, Arnett Cook. They were married on June 1, 1936 and farmed in the same area. Mum's great loves were her family, her garden and sewing and knitting. Mum was a good cook and there were many large family gatherings around her table. We thank the wonderful home care women, the nursing staff at Goodwin Lodge and the doctors and nurses at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital for the loving care mum has received in her last years. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Rev. Patricia McMahon officiating. Donations may be made to Goodwin Lodge Outdoor Garden Fund. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
