ETHEL MAE MANCHESTER March 28, 1920 - October 26, 2005 Mae passed away peacefully on October 26, 2005 at Middlechurch Home with family and friends by her side. Mae was born, March 28, 1920, an only child of Bertha Jamieson, she was raised by her mother and grandparents in the Warren area. She married John in September 1940 and, apart from a period during the war when they were stationed in Prince Edward Island, they lived in the Warren area until 1994 when they moved to Lion's Manor in Stonewall. In June 2000, they moved to Winnipeg due to illness and the need for specialized care. John and Mae were very actively involved in community work both in Warren and at Lion's Manor in Stonewall. Mae was a devoted and caring daughter towards her mother Bertha Jamieson who passed away in 1994. Mae was predeceased by John in August 2002. Surviving Mae are her three children, Linda Lampshire (Ed) of Sandy Hook, Johnny Manchester of Winnipeg, and Brenda Manchester of Winnipeg. Linda's children are: Sherry Hall of Bedford, N.S.; Mitchell of Dryden; Cindy of Winnipeg; and David of Kenora. Johnny's children are: Boyd, Rod, and Heidi Hellsten of Winnipeg. Brenda's children are: Sally Guarino and Jeff Dolyny, of Winnipeg. She is survived by 11 great-grandchildren. Mae is also survived by her sister-in-law Sadie Crockett of Stonewall, cousin-in-law Jim and Lillian Duff of Winnipeg, and cousins Vernon and Barb McGregor of Winnipeg, and Russell Manchester of Calgary. The family wish to thank the many staff and volunteers of the Home for the kindly and compassionate care provided to Mae during the four years of her residency there. Special thanks are extended to her companion care workers, Gwen and Irene of Middle Church Home. A celebration of Mae's life will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, on Monday, October 31 at 1:00 p.m. Lunch to follow at the Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family encourage family and friends, if they desire, to make a contribution on Mae's behalf to Middle Church Foundation, through MacKenzie Funeral Home.
