H. S. (HY) HARVEY

H. S. (HY) HARVEY Born in Winnipeg, MB, June 15, 1915, passed away in Shorncliffe Hospice on Friday, October 14, 2005. Leaves to mourn his wife of 59 years, Barbara; two sons, Jeff (Deanna) and John (Trudyann); and four wonderful grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, Maxfield and Michael. They will miss their Poppa. Also survived by his two brothers, Charles of Winnipeg, MB and Arthur of Downey, CA. Hy joined the RCAF in 1941 and went overseas in 1942 to complete a Tour of Operations in Europe, then returned to Canada in 1945. His career was spent entirely in sales. He retired as Western Sales Manager of Schenley Distilleries Inc. in 1980. Hy and Barbara retired to Davis Bay on the water and it was a happy retirement until Hy suffered a stroke in 2003. The family wish to thank Dr. Estey and the wonderful staff at St. Mary's Hospital and Shorncliffe Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion, not only Hy, but the entire family. A private service will be held for the family and, at a later date, we will gather the Harvey clan and friends to celebrate Hy's life. If friends desire, a donation in Hy's name to the Union Gospel Mission or Covenant House, in lieu of flowers.
