Born: Aug 28, 1947
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ARTHUR LESLIE ANDREWS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Arthur Leslie Andrews after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his loving mother (Eva), twin sisters Lois (Jack), Verna (Jerry), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and several close friends. He was predeceased by his father Les, sister Peggy, brothers-in-law Bill and Don. John was born August 28, 1947 and raised in the village of Birds Hill. He attended high school in North Kildonan, and then went on to study at the University of Winnipeg. John pursued many career paths including real estate sales, administrative duties at Arnold Bros. Transport Ltd., before venturing into his own businesses, - Sports Card Fever in Selkirk and most recently TLT Services in Winnipeg, where he found his true calling teaching computer skills. John had an affinity for animals and he never met a dog he couldn't befriend. He was the uncle who wasn't much older than his nieces and nephews and therefore a favourite. John especially enjoyed the company of his great-nieces and nephews and took an interest in them. For the last several years John resided in Oakbank, MB and pursued with great interest his family's history and heritage and was looking forward to planning the next McLeod family reunion. Special thanks to niece Ellen, friends David and Wendy, Shiela, Cathy, and Joan for their extra support and numerous visits during his illness. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Helmut Unrah, Dr. Doug Maquire, OR staff, SICU, MICU and H6 of the Health Sciences Centre. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Oakbank United Church, Thursday, November 3 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
