Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE MARIE MACPHERSON (nee COVENTRY) Alice Macpherson passed away peacefully on October 31, 2005. She leaves to mourn her sister, Margaret Pomfrey and her four children, Charlotte Lazaruk (Ken), Donald Macpherson (Margaret), David Macpherson (Colette) and Keith Macpherson (Ludy). She will be sadly missed by her precious grandchildren Allison, Sarah and Michael Lazaruk, Iain, Jean, Kate, Keith, Kyle, Darcy, Matthew and Ellie Macpherson. Alice was the youngest daughter of David William and Margaret Viola Coventry. She was predeceased by her sister Viola Woods, her brother James Coventry, and in March of 2003 by her beloved husband Neil. She will be mourned by many nieces and nephews and friends. Alice was born in Elbow, SK and finished her high school education in Hawarden. She enrolled as a nursing student at the Moose Jaw General Hospital and became a registered nurse. Alice accepted a proposal of marriage from Neil Macpherson while he was serving with the RCAF overseas. The proposal was delivered by proxy by his sister, Frances Stewart. Alice and Neil were married on May 21, 1946. During her 56 years of marriage, Alice lived in nine different communities before settling in Winnipeg in 1964. She always participated enthusiastically in community life. Alice enjoyed life and loved to entertain. She was a committed Christian and offered her gifts in God's service; nursing, singing in choirs, teaching Sunday School, baking, visiting, using her God given abilities to make a positive difference where ever she was. A memorial service will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillvary Blvd. on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a reception following the service. The family wishes to thank the staff of 3 North at Grace Hospital for their compassionate care of Alice during her illness as well as the staff of Calvary Place Personal Care Home for their loving care of Mom while she resided there. In lieu of flowers donations in Alice's name may be made to World Vision, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping impoverished, malnourished children around the world at www.worldvision.ca Thomson Funeral Home in care of arrangements. 783-7211
