Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN (KAY) PARKER On October 30, 2005, Kay Parker passed away at the Zion Park Manor Nursing Home in Surrey, BC at the age of 97. Kay was born October 17, 1908 in Winnipeg, where she later married William Parker. Their hard work made possible the opening of their Portage Avenue business, Parker's Ladies Wear, where Kay was Secretary. Shortly after, she became a full-time homemaker raising a family. Later, business branches opened in Fort William and Port Arthur (Thunder Bay). Kay worked hard all of her life and was a devoted member of her church. Kay was widowed in 1970. A few years later she moved to North Vancouver to be near her sons, Peter, former CTV personality and Allen, Architect and Urban Designer. In North Vancouver, Kay was a resident of the Kiwanis Lynn Manor, where for many years she was very active in the social club, participating in manor life and winning first prize in many activities. Kay then moved to her son Peter's home in Sandy Hook (Sunshine Coast, BC), where she enjoyed life for 16 years. With failing health Kay was cared for by the staff of Zion Park Manor in Surrey during the past three years. Also left to mourn her passing are three grandchildren, Linda, Bill and Heather and nine great-grandchildren, Jamie, Daniel, Cienna, Justin, Adam, Chase, Max, Jacob and Jesse. Kay was much loved by all. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, 88 Hespeler Ave. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
