NICK YELLOWEGA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas (Nick) Yellowega on November 1, 2005 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Nick was born in Ashville, MB on December 19, 1923. The family later moved to the farming community called Shortdale where Nick raised his own family. He was a farmer who grew wheat and barley and raised beef cattle. He also drove the school bus and was the community mail man. He always had a good sense of humour, and could always be depended upon to give a helping hand. Nick will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary, brothers William, Joseph and Mike, sister Helen and her husband Mike Petro, and brother-in-law Mike Yakimishen. Left surviving he will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Stella, daughters, Debra (Rick) and Sandra (Ron), nieces Diane (Ed) and Karen, nephew Richard (Lorie-Anne), sister Olga Yakimishen of Dauphin and sisters-in-law Olga of Sudbury and Mary of Roblin. The family wishes to thank Dr. Demsas and the staff at Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion to our father. Prayers will be held on Friday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the St. Clements Cemetery, with a reception for family and friends at the Gordon Howard Senior Centre, 384 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. Pallbearers will be Ron Campbell, Rick Gauvreau, Ed Klemetski, Richard Yallowega, Peter and Mitch Wasylenchuk. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
