Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION SACKRISON In her 69th year, on October 31, 2005, Marion passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Marion will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Brian of 48 years; her children, Garth and Jason (Charlene); grandchildren, Alex and Samantha; sisters, Elsie, Erna (Ian), Dorothy, Barbara (Buck); brothers, Glenn (Darlene), Ed (Judy). She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Katherine Law. Marion left Winnipeg with Brian in the mid 1960s spending time in Calgary, North Vancouver, Montreal and then Mississauga. Shortly after her diagnosis with cancer they travelled back to the west coast settling in White Rock, BC. Despite the frequent moves Marion took great pride in establishing the new family home. Decorating, entertaining and cooking were amongst her favourite pastimes. Festive occasions often found her preparing exquisite dinners attended by family and friends. Gardening was another of Marion's passions culminating with their yard in White Rock, an often admired display of colourful and fragrant rhododendrons. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the health care professionals who aided Marion during her battle with cancer, notably, the staff at the Fraser Valley Cancer Centre and the team from the Peace Arch Palliative Care Centre. A memorial service will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, on Saturday, November 12, at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Albert Josephson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Marion's memory.
