R.W. (BOB) HOWE R.W. (Bob) Howe passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2005 in Brandon. Dad was born and raised in Brandon. He served in the RCAF during the war, overseas in England and North Africa. He married Kae in 1949, and in 1951, the family moved to Cochenour, ON where they lived until earlier this year. Dad was an active member of the community in Cochenour and the Red Lake area, involved in many activities, boards and charities. He was a lifetime member of the Red Lake Legion, and the Red Lake District Golf Club. Dad enjoyed life on the lake in Cochenour, forming many lifetime friendships. He liked to garden, fish, and golf. He liked to work with his hands and to putter around the yard. First and foremost, though, Dad was a musician and entertainer. From his early days in Brandon, overseas during the war, and through the years in Cochenour, he played the piano and organ on countless occasions and at many events, including being the organist at Cochenour United Church for many years. Some of the happiest moments of his life were spent sitting at the piano - entertaining friends and family, leading the choir or just sitting down in the living room to play a few favourite tunes. We'll miss him, but we won't forget him. He is survived by his wife, Kae; daughter, Aileen; son, Warren and his wife, Jane; son, Doug; grandchildren: Amy, Andrew, Leah, Ben, Karen and Alex; sister Gladys, and numerous close relatives and friends. A service of remembrance will be held at Brockie Donovan Funeral Home at 332-8th Street, Brandon at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2005, following a private interment. If friends so wish, donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 437-9th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4A9, CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room 0N109, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of choice. Arrangements are in care of Brockie Donovan, (204) 727-0694. God hath not promised skies always blue Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through God hath not promised sun without rain Joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God hath promised strength for the day Rest for the labour, light for the way. Grace for the trials, help from above, Unfailing sympathy, Undying love ....
