ELLEN JEAN RUSSELL After a courageous battle with cancer; it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Jean on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 79 years, surrounded by her loved ones. Remaining to cherish Jean's memory are her daughters, Linda (Randy) and Joanna (Rene); sons, Raymond, Paul and Bryan (Lisa); grandchildren, Tanya (Jay), Jessica (Brett), Tiffany, Barbara, Rebecca, Travis and David and great-grandchildren Raeanna and Elijah. She was predeceased by both her parents. On August 15, 1926 Jean was born in Coventry, England to Frank Joseph Russell and Alice Elizabeth Jones. She joined the Royal Air Force in 1942 during the war and released in 1945 as a Sergeant. Jean volunteered her time with many organizations throughout her life with the most recent being at 9 Circles on Broadway. She made many friends along the way, especially Shirley McDonald and Marie Bailey. Jean's funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Elie, MB. Special thanks to the staff of the Health Science Centre G4A ward, the staff at Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care as well as the staff at CancerCare and Dr. Maksymiuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
