JAMES (JIM) McCREA On November 4, 2005, at the Health Sciences Centre, Jim McCrea passed away at the age of 81. He is survived by his daughter Mary-Ann of Comox, BC; son Jim (Kim) of Toronto; grandsons Mikhail and Matthew of Comox and grand-daughter Kara of Toronto. Jim's beloved wife Jean passed away in May of this year, shortly after the couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Jim was born in Winnipeg, graduated from Gordon Bell High School, and served in the RCAF during the Second World War. He spent most of his working career with the Seven Oaks School Division. Jim was an avid golfer and curler. He loved his summers at Grand Beach and daily walks in Kildonan Park. An exceptional father, he spent countless hours at rinks and pools coaching and encouraging his children and their friends. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Health Sciences Centre staff for the exceptional care he received, in particular the MICU and A3 Step Down Unit doctors, nurses and support staff. No formal service will be held. The family would like to invite friends to drop in between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12 at Jim's home at 158 Armstrong Avenue to remember a life well lived.
