LAURA AMELIA MORRISON Peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2005, Laura Amelia Morrison passed away at Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home, at the age of 87. Laura is survived and lovingly remembered by her three children, Bruce (Fay), Heather Warnez (Jeff Lovegrove) and Dianne (Gord) Pollreis; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by sister Lill Allen; brothers, Harold, Art and Fred (Vera) Maher and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Andrew in 1968 and her grandson Glen in 1996. Laura was born in Montreal, one of eight children, but grew up and spent her entire life in Winnipeg. Mom started working in the fancy sandwich business, where she met Andy ( Bunty ). She raised her family and re-entered the work force, working many years at Macleods, St. Stephen's Broadway United Church and finally at Pharmacare. Mom was dedicated to the life and work of the church. Many busy years were at Chalmers United Church where she became the first woman to serve as an elder. She was very involved in the amalgamation of Chalmers and Greenwood churches and the formation of McClure United Church and McClure Place Seniors Residence. It was an honour for her to be a life member of the UCW and more recently of the Official Board. She was a loving and caring lady and has left many wonderful memories for us to cherish. In keeping with mom's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place, on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the care givers at Heritage Lodge, mom's home for the last two years, to those who took time to visit and those that kept her in their thoughts and prayers. If friends so wish donations may be made in Laura's memory to McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 783-7211
