Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCONNIE SMITH (nee BERG) Peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Lions Manor, Connie Smith passed away at the age of 98 years the last of thirteen siblings. She was predeceased by her husband William Smith in 1974 and her beloved son Grant in 1965, also many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her three remaining nieces, two nephews and friends especially her nieces Gwen Kirkby and Marilyn Lobson and longtime neighbours Jean and Sharon Mooney. Born in Alesund, Norway on September 6, 1907 to Andrew and Anna Berg, she moved to Canada with her family as a toddler settling in Moose Jaw, SK. As a young woman she moved to Winnipeg where she met and married her husband Bill in 1936. Making their home in Norwood. Connie became an active life member of St. Philips Anglican Church. She enjoyed a full life including many years working at Malabars and Cliffords. Her favourite pastimes included reading, crossword puzzles and shopping to complete her many stylish outfits. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Lions Manor for the patience and care given to Connie in her final years. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, contributions may be made to the charity of their choice. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, with Rev. Brian Flower officiating. Following a reception, the interment will follow in the Thomson In The Park Cemetery. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 783-7211
