JACQUELINE I. DARWIN 1913 - 2005 In the early morning of Sunday, November 6, 2005, Jacquie Darwin died quietly, secure in the knowledge that she would now be with her daughter Judy, who predeceased her in 1986. Jacquie was also predeceased by her sisters, Kay, Mary and Peggy, and her brother Dan Sprague. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Casscadden, her niece Gail (Jerry), all of Calgary, her nephew Mike (Sally) of Windsor, her nephews, David and Stewart of Toronto, and John of Vancouver, and her god-child Joy McDiarmid of Winnipeg. A gallant woman full of warmth, artistry, fun and people-loving, Jacquie spent her working life chiefly in Winnipeg at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet and later at the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. She was much involved with St. Agnes Guild and The Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Hidichuk officiating. A private family interment will take place in the spring beside Peggy's ashes at Jacque's beloved Victoria Beach. The family gives thanks for Jacquie's care to the Charleswood Care Centre, to Catherine Milner for her devoted attention, and to Elsie Hughes, a loving friend, for her weekly visits and gifts. The family asks that tributes to Jacquie's memory be made to The Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, 280 Balderstone Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R4A 4A6. THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • It is with great sadness to learn of Jacqueline's passing. I came to know Jacque over the past 3 years as a volunteer visitor at the Charleswood Care Centre. We enjoyed many afternoon chats together & I cherished her friendship. She was a very charasmatic lady with many wonderful attributes and I will miss our visits dearly. It is unfortunate the Care Centre did not notify me of her passing and therefore unable to attend her memorial. May the angels be with you Jacque. I know you are now at peace as you are with Judy. God bless you. - Posted by: Lisa Oakes (Friend) on: Dec 14, 2005
