EDWARD KENDELL On Thursday November 10, 2005 at Victoria General Hospital. Edward Kendell passed away peacefully with his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Kendell, his daughter-in-law Virginia Kendell and his sister-in-law Dorothy Kennedy by his side. Leaving behind to mourn his passing are his wife Kathleen; son Barry; daughter-in-law Virginia; granddaughter Heather of Chapel Hill NC; granddaughter Erica (Robert Prokopowicz) of Yelm, WA; sister Caroline (Bill Schutz) of Yorkton, SK; multiple nephews and nieces; and many friends in the Winnipeg area. He was predeceased by his parents Philip and Carolina (Schappert), brothers John, Jake, Philip, George, Bill and sisters Mary and Katharina. Edward was born on December 15, 1915 in Shellmouth, MB where he grew up until he left to work in Willowbrook SK as grain buyer. Because he was musically talented when he was young, he played in a band throughout the country. He eventually settled in Pilot Mound where he met his wife to be Kathleen Kennedy. Ed and his family moved to Winnipeg in 1954 when he was promoted to a district superintendent with the Federal Grain Company. Ed and Kay are long time members of Windsor Park United Church of Canada. In the year 1977 Ed retired from the grain business. In his later years, Parkinson's Disease prevented him from playing golf and travelling to visit his son's family in Chapel Hill, NC which he enjoyed after his retirement. The Internment will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m. and then the memorial service will be held at Windsor Park United Church, located at the corner of Autumnwood and Cottonwood at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November, 15. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions made to Windsor Park United Church Memorial Fund in Edward Kendell's name.
