Born: Apr 10, 1922
Date of Passing: Nov 11, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD MAXWELL RENNIE This past Friday, November 11, 2005 while many remembered Canada's fallen heroes, we lost one of ours. Donald Maxwell Rennie, a career pilot and war veteran served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 28 years as a fighter pilot, flight instructor, test pilot and decorated officer. He ended his career as an Accident Investigator with the Department of Transportation. His dedication and love for his country, paled in comparison to his love and commitment to family. Born in Keene, ON April 10, 1922, Don enjoyed baseball, skiing, hockey and friendships, one of which led to his 1941 marriage to the love of his life, June Graham. It was with her that he spent his life until this past week when he lost his final battle with health. Sadly Don was predeceased by his brother Roland, his son Don Jr. and his grandson who also carried the family name. He will be forever missed by his loving wife, June and remaining children, Liz (Bill Hamilton) and David. Also cherishing his memory are his sister Norma Parnall and family of Peterborough, ON, grandchildren Bryon, Kim (Keith Gurke) Robin (Jayson Bickerton), Jordana, Houston, Dawson, Natalia, and Cynthia, and three great-grandchildren Dayne ,Tye and Amanda. The entire family would like to express their sincere thanks to Drs. Carter and Ross and all the nurses and staff of the Portage General Hospital whose care and compassion brought an overwhelming sense of peace during dad's final days. Visitation will be held Monday, November 14 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, MB. A private family service will be held with internment at a later date in Ottawa. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or a charity of your choice. www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
