MAY O'MALLEY May died peacefully on November 12, 2005 at the Poseidon Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg. May is survived by her brother John (Jack) O'Malley and sister-in-law Betty, sister Maureen Clarke, and her niece Wendy O'Malley all of Winnipeg, her niece Tricia O'Malley (Toronto/London) and nephew Brian O'Malley (Calgary). May was born in Winnipeg on January 16, 1918 to Annie and Creighton O'Malley, and lived for many years in the family home on Jubilee Avenue. Following in her father's footsteps, she spent her professional life in the insurance industry where she made a long and strong contribution and many lifelong friendships. May was a longtime supporter of the Canadian Red Cross both as a donor and volunteer, and volunteered for more than 30 years at the Deer Lodge Centre. May loved to travel and enjoyed many epic car trips in Canada, as well as two treasured trips to visit family in New Zealand. In her retirement she took up golf and spent many happy years as a member of the Southwood Golf Club. May also enjoyed bowling and being a member of the Grant Park morning mall walking group. She treasured her friends and was a caring and constant friend to many. May's was a life well lived, and we will cherish our memories of her and always think of her with a smile. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate May's life will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church at Grant and Elm on Thursday, November 17 at 1:00 pm. with interment in St. John's Cathedral Cemetery at a later date. Thank you to the 5th floor staff at the Poseidon Personal Care Centre for making May's brief stay comfortable. Flowers are respectfully declined. If desired, donations in May's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., would be greatly appreciated. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 783-7211
