LEO JOSEPH CHARBONNEAU April 10, 1932 to November 13, 2005 With deep sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Leo was predeceased by his parents, Gabriel and Eva Charbonneau; brothers, Peter, Les, Arthur and Norman; sister Florence; grandson Joseph Trosky; and son-in-law Brian Geswein. Leo was born in Winnipeg and grew up in St. Boniface, later moving to the North End. He met his wife Audrey and moved to Elmwood, where they raised their children. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Audrey; children, Gail, Tracy (Larry), Jackie (Dean), Marty (Ken), Darrell (Cindy), Robert (Monica), Jerry, Adelyn (Wayne), his 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lillian Bester and Dolly Matsyk; and his brother Donald Charbonneau. Leo enjoyed spending time with his family. In his younger years, he spent time with his brothers and Uncle Bill, playing the harmonica. He liked to go fishing and taking the family to the Oasis on Sunday afternoons. He always enjoyed a game of cards and never missed Saturday Kinsmen Bingo! Getting together with his family playing Keno, was also something he liked to do. Leo retired from the City of Winnipeg Sanitation Department after 35 years. His last few years were spent at Bethania House, where he enjoyed being a part of the men's breakfast club and the many outings they went on. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, help and support while he stayed there. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Concordia Hospital for their care and kindness during Leo's short illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. - We Love You Dad And You Are In All Of Our Hearts - Visitation / viewing will be held Wednesday, November 16 between 7:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 17, 1:00 p.m. also in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home.
