ROSE KOUK (nee EZINICKI) Peacefully with her family by her side, Rose Kouk passed away on Monday, November 14, 2005 at the St. Boniface Hospital, two weeks before her 74th birthday. Rose will be sadly missed by Bob, her husband of 53 years; children, Larry (Carolyn), Linda (Bill Girling); grandchildren, Michael (Kathryne), Russell (Nancy), Courtney, Kimberly, Lesley; great-granddaughter Madison; sister Helen Shuturma, brother John and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Joseph; sister Kay Turchyn; brothers, Adam and Stan. Rose was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and family was the most important thing in her life. She adored her grandchildren and was proud of each of their accomplishments. Rose gave herself unselfishly to her family and happily attended countless concerts, recitals, plays, sporting and family events. She was quick to respond to others' needs before her own and worried about everyone's happiness even as she fought her own battle. The special bond she had with her grandchildren will be cherished forever. Rose also loved to travel, as was evident by trips with Bob to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico and numerous places in the U.S. and Canada. When she couldn't get to a far-off destination, she favoured motor trips with George and Brenda Millar or bus trips with Lawrence and Helen. Rose seldom missed socializing with her bingo buddies at St. Al's on Wednesdays. Her hand-made slippers, hangers and apple pies will be greatly missed by many. We love you, Mom. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered, Come with Me . So when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Rose's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Lawn Funeral Home 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
