JOHN EDWARD GAIR September 7, 1952 - November 13, 2005 Suddenly, but peacefully, on Sunday, November 13, 2005, Johnny Gair passed away at his residence after a brief battle with cancer, at the age of 53 years. Johnny will be sadly missed by his wife of 30 years, Brenda and his daughter Hillary (Tristan); his sisters, Cathie (Laurie) and Pam (Fred); his brothers, Bob (Dorothy), Alex, Billy, Cameron, Davie (France) and Gregg; his many nieces and nephews; great nephews and great niece; Aunty M. and Uncle Boyd and his in-laws, Al and Phyllis Weakley. Johnny was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Pearl Gair; his sister Patricia and his brother Bradford. Johnny was born on September 7, 1952 in Winnipeg (after a taxi ride from Winnipeg Beach). He lived in Winnipeg most of his life and graduated from Gordon Bell High School. He continued his education at the University of Winnipeg. He then joined his oldest brother on a 30 year journey, being by Bob's side as they built the business. Johnny met Brenda in 1975 and they married on June 25, 1977. Their pride and joy, Hillary, joined them on September 24, 1986. Many memorable summers were spent at their cottage in Matlock and the Robinson's cabins in Whytewold Beach. His Mom, his Dad, all of his siblings and their families, as well as Brenda's entire family were everything to Johnny. His infectious, fun-loving personality attracted many close friends into his life. Johnny will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but he has left us a legacy of memories with which to remember him forever. Out of respect for Johnny's wishes, a Celebration of his Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 at Neil Bardal Funeral Home, Aubrey St. at Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey St.) In lieu of flowers, please send donations to one of the following: MS Society, CancerCare Manitoba, D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre (1793 Portage Ave.) LeClaire Brothers in care of arrangements 775-2220

  • Dearest Brenda and family, I was so saddened for you to hear of John's way-too-early passing. He was a dear, fun gentle man. And of course..HILARIOUS !! I am sure the Big Guy up there is howling at his antics (probably showing Him how to put his legs over his head right now!!!). I am so sorry for your loss, we were all lucky to have had him in our lives, however briefly. Love, Diane Watson - Posted by: Diane Watson (Friend) on: Nov 17, 2005
