CAROL DIANE ARTIMOWICH (nee MARYNEWICH) September 21, 1971 - November 14, 2005 It is with deepest sorrow we announce the tragic passing of Carol, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Carol leaves behind her loving and devoted husband Ron; sons, Jeremy and Logan; father Len Marynewich; sister Donna (Andy) Lentz; Nana Anne Ellison; sisters-in-law, Bernice (Melvin) Rattai, Cory, Jody; Stella Pruse, Kali, Kelsey; Brenda (Ward) Omichinski, Jordan, Colin; brothers-in-law, Gerry (Val) Artimowich, Misti, Bradley, Shandi, Shelbi; Larry (Donna) Artimowich, Justin, Avery; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially Michelle and Patricia. Carol was predeceased by both of her grandfathers, Stanley Marynewich and Jim Ellison in 1967, grandmother Helen Marynewich in 2000, mother Pat in 2004, mother-in-law Pauline in 1999, father-in-law Michael in 2003. Carol was born in Winnipeg and raised in Beausejour. She spent most of her childhood years enjoying sports, triking in summer and playing ringette through the winter. She was always spending time with her friends every chance she had. Carol graduated from Edward Schreyer School in 1989 and went on to the Health Science Centre to obtain her nursing degree. Upon graduating from the R.N. Program she worked a few years before taking the Intensive Care program. She was currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing Program at the University of Manitoba. She enjoyed her job and it showed in the great care she gave to her patients. Carol recently received the Nursing Excellence Award, the highest honour given by her colleagues and peers. At the time of her passing Carol had been a nurse for 14 years. Carol and Ron married on May 23, 1992. They lived in Beausejour until moving into their new home in Tyndall in 1997. Jeremy was born December 17, 1997 soon after Logan followed April 16, 1999. Carol was a devoted mother to her boys and was constantly on the go taking them to their numerous activities, from swimming lessons in the summer to hockey practice or games in the winter. Carol's days off work were spent taking the boys to various enrichment activities such as the Children's Museum, Assiniboine Zoo or the Music Conservatory. Family camping trips were a favourite summer activity and the quad rides were enjoyed by all. When not at the hockey rink in the winter, the entire family enjoyed their snowmobile rides. Carol took great pride in her garden and yard. Logan enjoyed the many trip to the greenhouse with mom for more flowers for the flowerbeds. Carol was always busy living life to the fullest giving 110% to anything she attempted. One of her favourite pastimes was scrap booking; an album made for each of the boys from birth to date will be a wonderful memory for each of them. Prayers will be held on Friday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour with Pastor Roland Rendell officiating. Interment will follow at Tyndall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Carol's memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 0C8 or Garson Arena Building Fund, 9 Thompson Ave., Garson, MB R0E 0R0. • Ron, I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with your wife Carol since she started working in the ICU. Such a gentle soul, so compassionate towards her patients and their families. She was indeed an advocate for her patients and a role model for her peers. Perhaps, wherever she is, her organizational skills and caring heart are being put to good use and bringing comfort to others. She will be missed! - Posted by: Peg Holt (Co-Worker) on: Nov 18, 2005
