Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANKLIN BURNS WRIGHT August 9, 1936 - November 14, 2005 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Franklin Burns Wright, at the young age of 69. Remaining to cherish his memory are his children, Michael (Roxanne), Kimberley (Terry), Mary (Joe), Frank (Brenda). Grandchildren, Michael (Sarah), Lisa (Jeffery), Melissa, Leann, Shae-Lynn, Christopher, Tina, Andrew and Ashley. Great-grandchildren, Cameron and Dominick, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Brothers, Harry (Irma), Fred. Sister-in-law Betty Waechter and daughter Diane Waechter. Frank was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Florence, parents Estelle (Lidstone) and Frank and brother Wilmer. Frank attended General Wolfe School where he met his lifelong love, Shirley Florence Bragdon in Grade 7. Frank and Shirley were married on May 17, 1958. Dad boxed as an amateur before he was married. He was involved with coaching hockey, baseball and helped run Clifton Community Club for many years. He loved camping, fishing and travelling with his family. Frank started his career with Manitoba Corrections Department of Justice at Headingley Jail in June of 1962. He subsequently worked at Vaughn Street Jail and then P.S.B. Winnipeg Remand Centre. Over the years, Dad was affectionately known as Old Man Wright - The Softie from his fellow workers. He retired in September 1996. Special thanks to doctors and staff on 3rd floor south at the Grace General Hospital. Prayers on Sunday, November 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Knysh Funeral Chapel.
