HELENA AUDREY (LILLIE) MAUSETH Peacefully, Lillie passed away on November 16, 2005 at Carman Memorial Hospital, Carman, MB. Lillie was born on February 17, 1930 to Annie and Fred Liesch, Sr. on a small farm outside Winkler, MB. The oldest child of a family of nine, Lillie willingly accepted the responsibilities of helping her mother raise her younger brothers and sisters. Lillie was predeceased by her parents, brother Fred and sister Evelyn. Surviving siblings are Lorne, Ed, Pete, Larry, Carolyn and Mabel. Never afraid to meet any challenge that might come her way, Lillie worked tirelessly and gave unconditionally to all who crossed her path. Lillie put everyone and anyone ahead of herself, something she did without the expectation of reward or recognition. A talented lady, one who created many beautiful quilts to keep her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren warm, as a method of forever enveloping them with her love. Her uncanny wit and intelligence was evident by her knowing most of the answers in Jeopardy, and if you ever didn't know something, chances are she did. Talents abounded, from the needlepoint creations done without a stitch out of place, to the vast and ever-blooming flowers that adorned her and Ervin's house and farm. Lillie will be lovingly remembered by her husband and soul-mate, Ervin Mauseth, a man with whom she celebrated the best of times and lovingly supported through the less than best. Also honouring her memory, and together with their families, are her children, Sharon and Glen Hall, Debby and Ray Hall, James Edward Ted and Wendy Bartlett, Wendy and Lawrence Buhr, Patricia and Albert Penner, and Erlin and Sam Zurawski. To Mom: How do we say goodbye to someone we have admired, relied on, respected and loved more than these few words could ever describe. You taught us how to live and love, and through that love, taught us how to die, with strength, dignity and immeasurable grace. Your love gives us peace, and we hope that we shine a little of you, through us. We love you. As per Lillie's wishes, a private family funeral will be held on Monday, November 21 at Doyle's Funeral Chapel, Carman, MB. Interment to follow at Elm Creek Cemetery, Elm Creek, MB. Flowers gratefully declined, donations in Lillie's honour may be made to the Carman Memorial Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, Carman, MB or to CancerCare Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB. Doyle's Funeral Chapel respectfully in care of arrangements.

Just wanted to send my sympathies to Erlin and Pat who I remember with fond memories from my Sperling School days. So sorry to hear of your loss. I'm thinking of you. Janet Vogt (Schroeder) - Posted by: Janet Vogt (Acquaintance) on: Nov 18, 2005
