Peacefully, on November 15, 2005, Mike Dell passed away, after a heart attack, at the Grace Hospital, three days before his 80th birthday. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Tekla and Paul; brothers, Tony, Nick, Alec, Walter and Frank; sister Mary; his father-in-law Nick Basarowich; sisters-in-law, Mary, Jean, Bertha and Bonnie; brother-in-law John Dubel. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jean; sons, Michael (Judy) and Kenneth; grandchildren, Kyle and Dana. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Ed (Carol) and Bert (Marie); sisters-in-law, Eileen (Joe) and Jessie Dell; mother-in-law Annie Basarowich and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was born in Gimli on November 18, 1925. He worked for the Department of National Defence for 30 years, retiring on December 28, 1985 in Winnipeg. Mike's hobbies included fishing, especially with his friend Bernie; going to Garden City for coffee to meet with friends; trips to Arizona with his wife for winter holidays, when he was able to make the long drive. Gigi loved spending time with his sons, having coffee and being with the grandchildren, especially on Christmas morning opening presents; watching the grandchildren play hockey and baseball and watching wrestling on television. Mike loved and enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his smile. Prayers will be said on Friday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 10:30 a.m. also at the chapel with Father Peter Chorney as officiant. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Kyle Dell, Michael Dell, Alex Byra, Ken Dell, Bernie Sadowski and Joe Kolopenuk. Honorary Pallbearer Dana Dell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. We love you Mike, Dad and Gigi. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

Auntie Jean, Mike, and Ken and family, I was greatly saddened to hear of your Uncle Mike' s passing this week. All of us ( Ken, Clifford, Joyce and Sharon ) along with our families send you our most heartfelt sympathy. Uncle Mike for me will be remembered for his great sense of humour and how his laughter filled a room.
